06/17/2010 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Kimo showed similar skills in Omaha as he did at his workout in Hawaii. He is a short, stocky 2-way player, that currently projects equally at OF and at 1B. Kimo reads the balls of the bat pretty well and he takes okay angles to the ball. He makes plays consistently and throws accurately to his cut-off many with some decent carry. Added arm strength and better routes to the baseball should help abilities in the OF improve. In the INF, Kimo again makes plays and he keeps the ball in front of his body. He moves well around the bag and has a good physical make up. A more athletic pre-pitch routine, and again added arm strength will help defensive grades improve. Offensively, James has good bat speed, and decent barrel accuracy. He hits the balls hard and showed good carry during batting practice. If James can improve his balance and keep his front side closed, offensive tool grades can get better.
