12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 James is an aggressive player with a good idea of the game. In the OF, James takes a quick first step with solid routes to the baseball. He shows good arm strength staying on top of ball with accurate throws. If he lowers his hip level fielding the ground ball out front, his exchange will become more efficient. At the plate, James shows outstanding zone recognition (drawing 4 walks at the event) with a knee to knee load. Swing is on a level/direct as he hits against a firm front side. On the mound, he maintains good tempo and throws strikes, working ahead in the count. FB shows arm-side run as he works to keep it down in the zone. More glove side lead and lower 1/2 drive off of the rubber will help to improve effectiveness on the mound. This 2017 grad has skills with still time to develop on the diamond.
