07/22/2024 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Jamey's ongoing improvements on the mound are promising, showcasing his dedication to developing his baseball skills. His sound and repeatable delivery is a crucial asset, as it allows for consistent mechanics, enabling his arm action to work freely and cleanly to the plate. With a top velocity of 74 mph, he is demonstrating significant growth in his arm strength, and a fastball range of 70-74 mph with arm side run action. The addition of a breaking ball with a 11/5 shape and late break. He maintains arm speed on his splitfinger pitch with sinking action. His off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. By getting onto a long toss program to develop additional arm strength, he will likely see further improvements in both his velocity and overall performance on the mound. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.
