07/22/2024 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Jamey's ongoing improvements on the mound are promising, showcasing his dedication to developing his baseball skills. His sound and repeatable delivery is a crucial asset, as it allows for consistent mechanics, enabling his arm action to work freely and cleanly to the plate. With a top velocity of 74 mph, he is demonstrating significant growth in his arm strength, and a fastball range of 70-74 mph with arm side run action. The addition of a breaking ball with a 11/5 shape and late break. He maintains arm speed on his splitfinger pitch with sinking action. His off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. By getting onto a long toss program to develop additional arm strength, he will likely see further improvements in both his velocity and overall performance on the mound. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

06/29/2023 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Jamey is a 2026 RHP/OF out of Kinston, NC who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved though an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball showed a range of 68-71 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jamey is a 2026 OF/RHP who showcased his skills at the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. In the OF, he showed athletic actions as he tracks the ball well and works through the baseball. Good first step reads enable him to run down balls in all directions. He fields from an on-time fielding position with his hands out front. He creates momentum to his target as he throws from a 3/4 arm slot. At the plate, he hits from an upright and even stance. A controlled load, with good bat to ball skills, and hits into a firm frontside. Gets good extension as he hit balls to all fields. On the mound, he separates his hands on-time and strides in line. He has a deceptive arm angle and is composed on the mound. He attacks hitters with a FB that sat 63-65mph with arm side run, and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball. In 2 innings of work, Jamey didn't allow a run and threw 54% of his pitches for strikes. With 3 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Jamey making huge strides on the baseball diamond.

06/24/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (MS) Jamey is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who showcased his skills during the Select Training at the CWS. On the mound, Jamey gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Jamey operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with good movement. Breaking ball sits from 54-58mph with 10-4 break. Accelerating his arm more through his release can help Jamey improve his pitch velocity. In the field, Jamey takes good angles and makes the routine plays. He throws from a 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Jamey can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with good extension, driving the ball to his pull side. Engaging his lower half more can help Jamey generate more pop off the barrel. Overall, Jamey is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
