07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Jamie continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/20/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Bridgeport, CT Jamie is an athletic, SS/OF. Defensively at SS, he takes athletic routes as he gets into a square fielding position on GB's. He fields the ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he shows quick footwork and is aggressive to the GB. He moves well laterally and makes accurate/on line throws to his target. With the bat, Jamie has smooth rhythm to load. He swings on a direct path aggressively through the zone and sprays pitches to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
