01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jan is a slick fielding middle infielder out of Miami, FL in the 2026 class. His smooth actions were recently on display at the BF Pre-Season All American Tournament. Defensively, scouts describe him as “he makes everything look easy”. He demonstrates agility, athletic movements and confidence. He creates positive angles and plays under the baseball with a controlled feel. Moves well laterally and covers his defensive zones with plus range (7.07 runner). At the plate, he works to use the whole field and puts the ball in play consistently. Shows solid bat to ball skills and generates aggressive actions with his lower half. He is on-time and hits off a firm front side. Showed well in game action with 2 hits and a BB. Overall, Jan is a 2026 prospect to keep an eye on.

06/15/2023 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Jan is an athletic 2026 SS who is a prospect on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.19 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, hitting abilities are outstanding with solid power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 3 years to further develop, Jan has a high skill set and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
