06/17/2010 - Omaha Pro Select Training and Tournament - Week 1 Jaris is a short, stocky, 2-way player that will graduate in 2012. He currently projects better at 3B than on the mound, but showed good improvements on the hill since his last workout. In the INF, Jaris makes plays on balls hit his way and does a nice job keeping it in front of his body. He has decent hands, an okay exchange, and throws accurately across the diamond. Defensive abilities can get better with added physical strength, added arm strength, and more aggressiveness to the ball. On the mound, Jaris increased his radar velocity from 69 to 79 MPH. He repeats his delivery well and shows currently average off-speed pitches. Jaris has a good feel for the game, he holds runners well, and he backs up bases. Mound effectiveness can improve if Jaris can add arm strength and get more push off of the rubber. Offensively, Jaris is an aggressive hitter with a good set-up and load. He has good bat speed, barrel accuracy, and he works the ball up the middle of the field. Jaris flashes some pop in his bat, and if can avoid spinning off the ball, and add physical strength, solid offensive grades can become even better.
