02/26/2023 - National Showcase - Lexington, SC Jarvis continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.27 runner. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.25 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential are now well above average through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jarvis is a good looking 2025 prospect. The C/OF has likeable tools that give him a promising future. Behind the plate he receives the ball well with a firm glove and has good quiet actions that make pitchers want to throw to him. At the plate he features good bat speed and some strength in his base that make him a candidate for future power.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jarvis is a catching prospect who will graduate in 2025. During this event, he would show great defensive work behind the plate posting above average rating in his receiving and blocking. We were excited to see his arm on display, throwing a raw velo of 69mph. With his clean exchange, he posted a 2.45 pop time. Not only did he impress behind the dish, but he also showed his ability to swing the bat. His athletic set up, short swing, and centered approach helped him provide a consistent approach at the plate. Working on staying in his legs as he swings will help his power numbers to grow. Overall, Jarvis is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
