07/23/2012 - 2012 Team One Northeast Showcase
Clapper continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities, only showing at SS at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.03. Feet are quick / athletic in attacking ground balls and playing through well as he displays soft / sure hands. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength. At the plate, Jason continues to shine through a balanced / athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed to and through the ball at contact. Swing path is short / direct and he shows a solid feel for the barrel.
03/11/2012 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ
Jason showed well both in the INF and on the mound in Hightstown, NJ. Defensively, Jason has soft / sure hands, fluid feet, and he moves with agility to the ball. He fields from the right, in an athletic position, and his exchange is clean. Jason has a loose arm action and throws with accuracy and carry through to his target. A quicker exchange and shorter arm action will help solid defensive grades get better. On the mound, Jason has a long / free arm action, a controlled balance point, and he keeps his shoulders level. He keeps his eyes on target, his CB shows potential, and he competes in the zone. If Jason can keep his front side closed, and get more extension on his pitches, abilities on the mound can improve. Offensively, Jason has a square / athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He is a strong hitter with a level swing who makes square / consistent contact.
07/26/2011 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ
Jason showed nice defensive improvements during his last workout in Trenton. He raised his arm grade from 45 to 52, and his fielding grade from 45 to 48. Jason has soft hands, good footwork, and he fields in a square / athletic position. He has a clean exchange, and he throws with a short / loose arm action with excellent life and carry to his target. Offensively, Jason has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and good balance. He has good separation, fast bat speed, and he gets good extension to and through the ball. Jason can spray to all fields and he makes good use of his lower 1/2.
10/27/2010 - Arizona Fr/So Fall Classic - 2010
Clapper showed well in Arizona and continues to project as an above average player. Arm strength is a plus displaying carry and accuracy across the diamond. He is vocal and communicates well while in the infield as he takes charge during games. Feet are active in working around and through the ball with his body. Offensively, hands work strong to the ball, showing a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off when centered. His barrel accuracy remains consistent and effective as well. Clapper has a lot of ability now, and with 3 years to further develop, he has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Offensively, Clapper shows a balanced approach that allows his loose hands to work to and through the baseball at contact, generating bat speed.
