06/13/2024 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series Jason continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.71 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has great knowledge of the game. He works hard on the field with a lot of energy.

02/24/2024 - National Showcase - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL Jason is a 5ft 5/129 1B/C in the 20230 class. Behind the plate, he shows flexibility and stays square in his set-up. His pocket has feel and he keeps his eyes behind the baseball. Redirects with clean actions and gains along high 3 qtr. slot. Shows consistent accuracy and uses momentum on this throws (3.30 pop/64 velo). Sat 1B, he plays with high energy and is determined to make plays. He centers his body to the baseball and displays a solid pocket. Arm work well on his feeds and following his throws will generate additional carry. At the plate, he shows quick hands (66 exit velo) and good balance. Can drive the baseball to the opposite field with great extension through the zone. Overall, Jason has excellent starting points at this point of his career.

12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Jason is a C/RHP in the 2030 class. Behind the plate, he has active and agile feet. He has a low stance and shows excellent glove presentation. Tracks the ball in well and displays clean catch to throw actions. Gains an over-the-top slot and registered at 2.88 pop time. Working to cover the 5-hole on his blocks will key area as he progresses through his game. On the mound, he works both sides of the plate and works to keep the ball in the zone. His FB sat 58-9 with slight movements. His sinker has 2-seam type spin and ranged 58-9. His CH is an excellent pitch with FB arm speed at 54-5. At the plate, he has a balanced set=up and stays in his legs. Likes to be aggressive in the box and looks to do damage at 67 exit velo. Creates a level path and generate production to all fields. Overall, Jason is a young and up and coming player with strong starting points. Scouts are eager to witness his development at future events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
