05/26/2018 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Jason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.96. At the plate is where he improved the most, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in his lateral movement as he displays range. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with zip and on line carry to his target. Jason is a sure player to follow and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Jason is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.15 60 time. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads ball well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is outstanding as he has a positive attitude, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Jason has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
