02/24/2013 - College PREP - Sioux Falls, SD Jason is a big and tall, solidly built 1B. With the bat, he has easy pop with an on-plane swing path. He has good separation, is on-time and makes square contact. Defensively, he has fluid footwork and is athletic in his fielding position. His clean/quick exchange allows for fluid double play feeds. Ultimately, the 6'4"/220 lb junior can really swing it, and projects well at first base at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
