01/06/2019 - College PREP - Jacksonville, FL Jasper shined once again at the event in Jacksonville, Florida. At SS, feet are active/aggressive in attacking and playing through balls. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an open setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. We look forward to seeing what the future hods for Jasper.

02/11/2018 - College PREP - Savannah, GA Jasper continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with major improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved, now showing well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. In the MIF, defensive abilities are now well above average as he displays smooth/clean actions. Jasper does a nice job of presenting well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to work on foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-78 mph with late life. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with loose spin and gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for the pitch with sinking action. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Jasper has a bright future ahead of himself and we look forward to seeing the progress in the years to come.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jasper is a SS/RHP prospect. As a SS, Jasper works around the ball and centers in the middle of his body. He gets into a square position to field and has a clean exchange to throw, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. As a hitter, Jasper sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through with his lower half well. He has a compact swing, stays inside the ball and drives the ball to all fields. On the mound, Jasper has good tempo, stays balanced over the rubber, and throws a commanding breaking ball. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph. Breaking ball sit at 66mph with 10-4 break. Jasper has a good head on his shoulders and we hope to see his improvement in the future.

01/10/2016 - College PREP - Jacksonville, FL Jasper continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he is a smooth/fluid fielder with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he plays through balls well. Abilities in the MIF will improve as he develops his foot speed and works to present his glove to field the GB more out in front. Throws are accurate with life as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he showed a soft setup with balance. Hands are loose and he makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting abilities will continue to improve as he levels out his swing path with power numbers increasing as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball showed good tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with good arm side run. With 4 years to further develop, Jasper has a lot of potential and will be a fun player to follow.

11/02/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Jasper is a young, R/R 2-way player as a SS/RHP. Defensively at SS, he shows active footwork and is aggressive coming to get the ground ball. He shows good lateral range and fields the ball cleanly. With the bat, this RHH shows an open stance with a solid base. He tracks the ball into the zone and waits for his pitch. Barrel delivery is level as he is a contact type hitter. On the mound, Jasper throws a FB & CH from a low 3/4 arm slot. FB ranges from 62-65 mph while showing run & sink. He maintains level shoulders, works to a controlled balance point and drives off in-line toward the plate. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
