01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Javen is a talented and projectable 2020 LHP prospect. On the mound, Javen features three pitches and throws them consistently for strikes. He's not afraid to challenge hitters in with his fastball and he commands his curveball for an out pitch. He has good feel for the changeup and uses this pitch to get ahead of header as well. Javen gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a fluid arm swing. He rides the back leg toward the plate and works north to south in his delivery. This solid lefty will toe the rubber and compete at a very high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
