02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Javier is a C/3B prospect who showcased his skills during the Opening Day Classic. Behind the dish, Javier sits in an athletic stance and tracks the ball into his glove. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through the 2B bag. He is smooth moving to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with his hands held high. He shows controlled rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a short swing with plus barrel control, driving the ball from gap to gap. Overall, Javier is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Javier is an athletic C prospect who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Javier is fluid moving to block and keeps the ball in front of him. He sits in an athletic stance and tracks the ball into his glove well. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate, on-line throws through the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half, spraying the ball to all fields. Overall, Javier is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
