04/07/2024 - National Showcase - Charlottesville, VA Jaxon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show a 2B for the first time at the event. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.47 with accuracy on his throws. Time will continue to drop as he build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 67 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with cutting action. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Jaxon is a 2029 3B who showcased his skills during the BF East Coast Winter Classic. At 3B he works from right to left as he tries to center the baseball. Does a good job of closing his front shoulder up on his throws. At the plate he hits from an even stance with low hands. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Keeps his hands inside and hits pitches where they're pitched. In live game action he made consistent contact and reached base 4 times with 2 singles, a walk, and reached on an error. Jaxon plays with good effort and energy. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Salem (Roanoke), VA Jaxon is a 2029 3B/RHP prospect that recently showed his skills at the National Showcase in Salem. At third, he shows off efficient movements and works hard moving to the baseball. He works hard to get in a low fielding position and he does a nice job of staying smooth with his backhand. He makes accurate throws to his targets from a high 3/4 slot. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance and has a short, on-time stride. He does a great job of staying balanced through contact and works hard to get his lower half completely involved. He has a level, direct swing path to the baseball and does a great job of making consistent contact. He uses all fields with a line drive approach. On the mound, he throws from a 3/4 slot and features a 3-pitch mix. He does well to gather his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. He has good direction and stays squared to the plate when delivering the baseball. His FB has some sink to it and he has good feel for the zone with the pitch. He does a great job of throwing his CH with FB arm speed. With a lot of baseball out in front of him, Jaxon is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
