11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition Jayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. He shows active footwork as he attacks ball, working to square ball up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 60 mph. Fastball showed a range of 54-60 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed with slight sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Jayden is a lean RHP/3B who will graduate in 2030. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 54-56 mph with slight sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 7 years to further develop, Jayden has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
