10/09/2024 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2028) Jayden Miller is a versatile and athletic prospect who showcased a well-rounded skill set at the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic. Defensively, Jayden demonstrated really good hands at first base, consistently handling tough plays and showing a strong ability to field short hops with confidence. His fundamentals are solid, and he’s a reliable presence on the infield. As he continues to refine his range and lateral movement, Jayden has the potential to become even more effective defensively. On the mound, Jayden’s fastball was clocked at 66 MPH, and he complemented it with a curveball at 59 MPH and a changeup at 61 MPH. While his velocity is still developing, Jayden shows a good pickoff move to first base, demonstrating his ability to control the running game and keep base stealers in check. With continued work on pitching mechanics and adding velocity, he has the potential to become a more consistent and effective pitcher. At the plate, Jayden displays good balance and strong strike zone awareness, allowing him to consistently make solid contact and work the count. He had a productive tournament, drawing two walks and collecting two singles, including an RBI hit. Jayden also showed his speed on the bases, swiping two stolen bases and demonstrating his overall athleticism and ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game. Overall, Jayden Miller is a promising two-way player with a bright future. His solid defense, pitching potential, and offensive contributions make him a valuable asset. As he continues to develop his power, pitching velocity, and range defensively, Jayden has the potential to become a well-rounded contributor at the next level.

04/28/2024 - All-In National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Jayden is a 6ft /156 1B/LHP in the 2028 class. In the field, he uses his feet well and covers his defensive zone well. Stays square in his fielding position and demonstrates a strong pocket. Can redirect the baseball with clean actions and uses a loose high 3 qtr. slot. Frame creates a strong target for his defenders. On the mound, he gets downhill well and stays low in the zone. His FB topped at 64 and pounded the zone. His CB/SL combo had 2-8 shape and the SL had late break. His Ch/Cut ranged (CH 56-9/CT 62-3) showed promise. At the plate, he swings with high intent and shows a quick barrel. Separates well from his hands to front foot and creates a strong power position. Ball jumps at 75 exit velo and his contact rate is strong. Overall, Jayden is going to have a future on the high school level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
