12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Jayson is a strong 5ft 6/135 OF/2B in the 2028 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, he shows a relaxed feel and his feet are active. He likes to work behind the baseball and demonstrates agility in his angles. He stays squared to the baseball and offers excellent glove presentation. He redirects the ball back to the dirt with clean actions and releases from a high 3 qtr. slot. Scouts feel if he stays in his legs and follows his throws, he will generate more carry on an already outstanding throwing motion. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and gains great hand separation. Stays balanced though his swing phase and uses his lower half well. Showed really well in the cages and during batting practice by driving the baseball to all fields. Overall, Jayson is a solid 2028 player who can contribute at the high school level.

10/15/2023 - National Showcase - San Rafael (San Francisco), CA Jayson is an athletic OF/2B in the 2028 class. He impressed scouts with his actions and they came away feeling he plays above grade level. On the grass, he shows active feet and gains ground to the baseball. Takes solid routes to the baseball and creates a quick redirection of the baseball. Uses a crow hop to create energy on his throws and is accurate to his cut off man. On the dirt, his feet are active and he centers his body to the baseball. Shows great pocket feel and looks advanced on his DP footwork and feeds. At the plate, he begins in a squared stance and gets into his load well. Stays inside his feet for balance and creates hard contact and line drive production. Overall, Jayson is a promising young talent and scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
