04/05/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach, SC Jayvian showed well for the Freedom team at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games. He is a left-handed hitter with the ability to play all three outfield spots. At the plate, he reached base four times with three hits and a walk . He hustles, is a hard worker and a good teammate that the other guys like to be around. His left-handed stroke to geared to ground balls and line drives and he is most comfortable turning on balls. We would like to see him be more aggressive at the plate. When he sees a fastball he likes - take a swing! As he refines his stroke he will better sync up his upper and lower half. In the outfield, Jayvian showed good hands and moved through ground balls. More repetitions off the bat will help to improve his reads and jumps leading to more range. Overall, we look forward to working with Jayvian more to help him further develop on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
