11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at the Jackie Robinson Sports Complex Jayvian continues to shine with his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he a closed setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 63-66 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displaying 11/5 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

11/28/2021 - All-In Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Jayvian is a RHP/2B who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with some strength present and room to add throughout. In the infield, has a good ready position and showed ability to make routine plays. He tries to center the baseball and throws from a low 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 68mph across diamond. On the mound, he separates his hands on-time and showed plus command on all 3 of his pitches. He attacks hitters with his FB that sat 62-66mph, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup he throws with FB arm speed. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an upright and closed stance. Takes a square glide step, with a small hand load, and has his head down at contact. Sprayed line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 64mph. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Jayvian having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
