01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament JC is a tall 2024 3B/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At 3B, he has a good first step and effective footwork. He fields from a square position with his eyes behind his glove. He has a clean exchange and doesn’t take extra steps. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and uses momentum across the infield. On the mound, JC showed a fastball that sat 76-78 mph with high volume of strikes. He also had a curveball with 11-5 break and a changeup that was 70-72 mph. JC had good balance on the mound and a loose clean arm action. At the plate, the left-handed hitter starts from an open stance and has an activated load. He has good balance and a strong lower 1/2. He made consistent contact and sprayed the ball around the field during batting practice. Going into his senior season, we expect JC to continue to be successful on the baseball field.

02/05/2023 - National Showcase - Georgetown, TX JC is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add more strength throughout. At 1B, he starts with efficient feet and takes aggressive angles to baseball. Creates good fielding angles, with good glove actions, and fields from an athletic fielding position. A loose arm action into a high 3/4 release point with consistent throws to second base. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound, he has a projectible frame with long levers. He works with good tempo and throws with intent. Throws a FB that sits 75-78mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that flashes good depth through the strike zone, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. CB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. Short/square glide step, with quick hands, and intent in swing. He hits into a firm frontside with a high finish. Hit baseballs hard into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 95mph during BP. With another year of growth and development, we foresee JC having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

01/30/2022 - All-In Membership - Liberty Hill, TX Jeffrey is a SS/RHP in the class of 2024. He shows very good athletic abilities along with good foot speed running his 60-yard dash in 7.22 seconds. In the field, he shows active feet and good pre-pitch actions. Does a good job gaining ground on the baseball and fields from a low/square fielding position. Creates momentum to throw and shows off a clean/fluid arm action. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance and strides to a square position. Shows smoothness and balance throughout his swing. Does a good job getting his hands extended out front and through the baseball. On the mound, he delivers all pitches from an over the top arm slot. Shows a clean arm action and repeatable mechanics. Fastball has tailing action and works up to 77 MPH. Breaking ball is a 12-6 shape that is thrown with good arm speed. His changeup is his best pitch with good downhill sinking action and thrown with the same arm speed of his fastball. Jeffrey is a good player that has 2 more years of high school to continue to develop.

07/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jeffrey is a 1B/RHP in the class of 2024. At the plate, he showed an advanced approach with a middle of the field focus. Did a good job of keeping his load and stride quiet and consistent throughout his round of BP. Showed good bat speed an ability to get the barrel to the zone. In the field, he showed good pre-pitch actions to help him set his feet up to work downhill. Picked out hops well. Showed good feel for the glove and consistently made the routine plays. Showed good effort throughout his defensive workout and was very coachable. On the mound, he worked with a quick tempo. Delivered pitches from an over the top arm slot. Showed feel and the ability to throw strikes with both his fastball and his breaking ball while flashing in a changeup. Fastball was his best pitch and was up to 75 MPH. Jeffrey is a young player with 3 years left before graduation. In that time we hope to see him continue to develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
