Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/2BPosition Projection

07/10/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jeffrey is a strong built 3B/2B prospect who competes on the diamond. As a right-handed hitter, Jeffrey has a square stance with a centered balance. He has a short, square stride as he partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. Jeffrey has a direct swing path and maintains a level barrel through the zone. He is a line drive type hitter who gives a good AB. In the field, Jeffrey works hard and makes the routine plays. He fields the ball in a high position with high hands. Jeffrey has a long exchange and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with good strength across the diamond. Overall, Jeffrey is a well-rounded prospect who has potential to get even better.

03/18/2018 - College PREP - Ashburn (DC), VA Jeffrey is a solid, athletic 3B who will graduate in 2019. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Jeffrey has abilities has a lot of room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
