01/19/2015 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Jeffrey is a lean RHP that will graduate in 2016. Delivery is repeatable allowing his arm action to work long and well to the plate through a high 3/4 arm slot. He shows a smooth / easy tempo through a strong balance point. Fastball shows a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break and shows potential when he stays on top of pitch. Changeup shows slight sink but needs to vary velocity from fastball. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches, pounding the zone. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Jeffrey has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
