Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/3BPosition Projection

12/02/2022 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jeffrey is a talented 3B/RHP in the 2024 class. On the mound, he has the feel of a finesse type pitcher with great FB movement from a loose arm. He sits 70-75 with it and its both sink and run. His CB has 10-4 action and hovers around 63. His CH sits 64 with movement and deception. At the plate, he has a balanced set-up and swing shows rhythm. Uses a short stride and generates bat speed (86 exit velo). Creates line drive contact to all fields. In the field, he has range (7.33 60yd) and his arm is accurate. Working on staying low to the ground will help him become a plus defender. Overall, there is a lot to like about his game.

07/18/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Minneapolis, MN Jeffrey continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show improvements as he now displays well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball shows arm side run. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/20/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Minneapolis, MN Jeffrey is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Jeffrey shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side, producing solid line drives. On the mound, Jeffrey operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 66mph with sinking action. Curveball sits from 55-58mph with 10-4 break. Slider sits from 61-63mph. With three more years to develop, Jeffrey has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/23/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - St Cloud (Minneapolis), MN Jeffrey is a tall 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Jeffrey takes good angles and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes consistent, on-line throws across the diamond. Taking a better prep step can help Jeffrey reach more ground balls. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball up the middle. Jeffrey can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Jeffrey shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with arm side run. Forkball sits from 62-64mph with downward movement. Changeup sits from 59-64mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Jeffrey produce more velocity on his pitches. With four more years to develop, Jeffrey has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
