12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jeremiah continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.84 runner. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.94 with accuracy / carry (88 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with a 2B and 3B.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Jeremiah Blair is truly turning himself into a dominant prospect in the 2024 class. Still 3 years away from college, the '24 catcher displays raw tools that will translate at the next level. His raw strength stands-out immediately. A 89mph exit velocity and 86mph raw velocity are impressive for someone his age. Behind the plate he has good feet and moves well. The glove works well with firm receiving technique. The more efficient he becomes with his transfer the more the ball will carry through his target. At the plate he has a quiet stance with fluid actions and keeps a middle of the approach. Because he has above average bat speed for his age and a direct swing path his line-drive type swing will quickly turn into gap to gap power.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
