Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

10/09/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Austin, TX Jeremy is a tall, athletically built two-way prospect who is currently more advanced as a 3B. He displays solid all around tools as a position player, with the athleticism and arm strength needed to play the hot corner and rhythm and quick hands in the box. On the bump, this right hander features a three pix mix including a fastball that tops out at 78 with tail, a curveball with 11-5 shape in the low 60's and a sweeping slider in the mid to upper 60's. He shows good body control in his delivery with his upper and lower body in sync and his delivery has deception to make it difficult on hitters. Getting to a consistent release point will increase deception and improve command on the mound. At third, Jeremy shows aggressiveness to go get the ball hit his way while gaining ground to his target with efficient feet. He makes good DP feeds with a clean exchange and quick release and has a strong arm with online carry to his target. At the dish, he has an athletic stance with good balance and rhythm in his swing. His bat is fast through the zone and he keeps his hands inside the ball while getting good extension to show line drive power to all fields. Jeremy is an intriguing prospect for the next level.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Jeremy is a talented two way player that showcased behind the plate and on the mound. Behind the dish Jeremy has quick feet, receives with soft hands, and showed the proper blocking technique. He moves well laterally and has a quick exchange with his throws. At the plate he has a smooth load, good balance, and a level swing. He makes consistent contact and hits solid line drives. He has a good approach and put together quality at bats during games. On the mound Jeremy works quick and pounds the zone with a 3 pitch mix. He throws a fastball with good sink, curveball with late movement, and a slider that he uses as his out pitch. With his repeatable delivery and mound presence, Jeremy will continue to improve on the mound and be a nice option at the next level.

11/06/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Jeremy is a solid two way player both behind the plate and on the mound. As a RHP, he works downhill, has a quality frame (physically), good delivery and produces a good arm angle. He shows a lot of potential and can improve substantially with staying in line to his target more consistently and releasing the ball a bit sooner in his delivery. As a catcher, Jeremy has a very good knowledge of the game, he backs up bases and communicates well. He blocks well, sports a quick release and a strong arm and stays nice and loose back there. He can improve his footwork when throwing to bases by shortening his steps. Offensively, Jeremy sets up square and athletically, he has an activated load, takes his hands directly to the ball and barrels it well. He can improve at the plate by focusing on handling the offspeed pitches and letting the ball travel and also loosening his grip. Jeremy is a hard worker and is a good young player with good potential.

07/21/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Austin, TX Jeremy is a skilled 2-way player as a RHP/C. On the bump, he has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point and drives off in-line toward the plate. He repeats well and throws strikes. FB tops out at 72 mph while breaking ball has 11/5 shape. Behind the plate, he sits in well and presents a low target. On throws to 2B, he gains ground and has a clean exchange (2.69). With the bat, Jeremy shows good rhythm as he waits for his pitch. He hits the ball where it's pitched, uses his lower 1/2 well and drives the ball to all fields. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Arm strength
2. Glove-side lead
3. Finish
Defense
1. Receiving
2. Exchange to throw
Offense
1. Shorten swing path
2. Extension through contact

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
