06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Jermaine is a coachable 2022 SS/RHP who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series in Omaha. At SS, he starts in a relaxed posture, with active feet, and showed ability to make routine plays. He fields out front and gets rid of the ball. Made throws across the diamond from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 71mph. At the plate, he hits from a tall and open stance. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 67mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out as he had 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch and repeats his delivery. He is a strike thrower who works with good direction down the mound. He stays inline toward the plate and has a controlled landing. Works off of a FB that sat 65-70mph with some movement in zone, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that he throws for strikes. In 5 innings of work, he punched out 2 batters and threw 59% of his pitches for strikes. Overall, Jermaine is a solid 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.
