12/27/2009 - Under Armour Recruiting Classic 2009 Wiker continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.70 runner. Arm strength has improved as he threw his lowest pop time at 2.18. He showed quality leadership and is able to handle a pitching staff. Offensively, Jerremy keeps the barrel behind and through the baseball at contact with baseball jumping off bat when centered as he displays strength in his swing.

12/06/2009 - College PREP - McCook, IL Jerremy is a two-way player as a catcher plus at 1B with a thick body that shows projection as he continues to polish, firming up. Foot speed is near below average as he must get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active in working in line, showing proper direction to his target through the throwing process. He needs to work on coming out low through the catch and throw process, currently stands up. Pop times show a range of 2.28-2.40 displaying average arm strength. He will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength, lowering pop times. Receiving and blocking skills are near average, needing further development to be quality tools at the next level. At 1B, actions are aggressive showing a soft, sure glove action but needs to present glove more down and out in front of his body, currently fields deep allowing the baseball to get in on his body dictating play. Defensive abilities are average at 1B. At the plate is where Wiker shows best displaying solid average abilities with above average power through a balanced approach. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a long swing path due to arm bar created in his load. He needs to work on keeping hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus to the pull side as he displays strength in his swing with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Jerremy has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
