07/18/2024 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC Jesse is an energetic and extremely coachable LHP/1B in the 2029 class. In the field, he shows strong bag awareness and is a big target for his defenders (5’10/130). He worked hard on his defense all session and made solid gains to make adjustments. On the mound, he shows poise and a feel for the position. He is not afraid to mix all his pitches and controls the run game well. In 4 inn of work, he collected 3 K’s. His FB sat 59-61 and showed run from a high 3 qtr. slot. His CB shaped 1-7 and was in the zone at 52-4. At the plate, he gains proper separation and puts himself into a strong launch position. Collected 2 BB’s and a hard line out to RF in game action. Overall, once he develops strength and gains more arm speed, he will become a fine player.

01/21/2024 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Jesse is a lean, athletic 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has control of the barrel and utilizes the middle of the field well through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 53-55 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 4 years to further develop, Jesse has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
