11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Jimmy is a hard worker who continues to progress in his skills. Offensively, this lefty steps into the box with a purpose. He has good zone awareness and doesn't swing at much that he can't handle. Barrel delivery is level as he connects and shows some pop to his pull-side. More extension through contact will help power to continue to increase. Behind the dish - Jimmy sits in with flexion and sway. He tracks pitches into a low target and sticks pitches in the zone. Exchange is clean as he works in-line toward 2B on throws down - pop times of 2.38. Staying low to throw and increasing his arm strength (long toss program) will help pop times to continue to drop. Jimmy (2019 grad) still has a ton of time to progress on the diamond.

11/13/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Jimmy has worked hard and progressed his skill-set. Behind the dish, he has a strong base and sits in well. Lateral footwork is quick as he gets around pitches in the dirt. Exchange is quick as he makes accurate throws down to 2B (pop times now at 2.47). Offensively, this RHH shows a balanced setup with activated hands. Barrel delivery is short as he has solid pop off of he barrel when he connects. Improved rhythm to load will help to improve timing and will increase contact consistency. Jimmy is a gamer who wants to give his best every time on the field.

11/14/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Jimmy continues to show consistency in his overall ability. Defensively, he communicates well behind the plate and shows the ability to call a good game. Jimmy does a nice job sacrificing his body when blocking but can continue to improve technique. Receiving ability will improve with a quiet body and less movement. Offensively, Jimmy showed improvement with his lower half since our last time seeing him. He will need to work on staying loose in his body as well as focusing on leveling out his swing path. With a couple of years before high school, Jimmy shows the potential to be a good High School player as he focuses on improving some fundamental areas of his game.

09/08/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Oak Creek (Milwaukee), WI Jimmy is a young, 2-way player who hits from the left side. Behind the plate, Jimmy sits in athletically, he holds a low target, and he gains ground well. He has a clean exchange, and delivers the ball with consistency from a long arm action to his target. At 3B, Jimmy has firm hands, he moves well to the glove side, and he gets rid of it quickly with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Jimmy has a tall set-up, a short stride, and a line drive swing. He gets good extension through the ball, and uses some lower body. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Blocking
2. Soften glove
3. Long toss
Infield
1. Pre-pitch actions
2. Field out front
3. Lighten feet
Offense
1. Rhythm
2. More lower 1/2
3. Shorten swing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
