10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Jimmy continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as attacks ball and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting/power potential is now well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 81 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-81 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sudden break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Cutter has tight spin and short break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Jimmy as he enters his junior year.

12/02/2022 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jimmy is a talented SS/RHP in the 2025 class. In the field, he has active feet and covers his defensive zone well. Shows solid range to his glove and arm side and makes the plays look routine. Gains a high ¾ release to produce accurate feeds across the diamond. Working to lower his hips will allow him to stay under the ball more and obtain a stronger feel for hop adjustments. At the plate, he begins in a athletic set-up and uses a short stride. Head stays quiet in his separation phase and allows his hands and hips to work well together. Generates juice (84 exit velo) to all fields. On the mound, he is a competitor. He is around the zone and works with good tempo. His FB sits 73-5 and works both sides of the dish. His CB sits 63-5 with 11-5 shape. His CH ranged from 64-5 and offered deception. Jimmy is one to follow in the 2025 class.

09/11/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Jimmy continues show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows good arm side run topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Jimmy continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 69 mph. Fastball shows a range of 66-69 mph with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and develops off speed pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Jimmy is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Young developing player who has room and time to fill throughout. At SS, he shows efficient feet and ability to pick out hops. Works with good rhythm and has a good baseball clock. Square fielding position and has a low funnel. Attacks the baseball, with a quick/clean exchange, and a short/quick arm action. Accurate/on-line throws, with a quick release, from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity of 73mph. Showed good footwork around the bag on DP plays. A right-handed pitcher, good balance to delivery and ability to repeat his delivery. Works off of a FB that sits 63-65mph who keeps his fingers on top of baseball. Mixed in a 12/6 shaped breaking ball and a developing changeup. FB was his best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Made contact to all fields, with a direct barrel path, and a bat exit velocity of 67mph during BP. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
