07/24/2024 - Baseball Factory Teams - Southwest Championships 18U Joaquin Vasquez is an exceptionally athletic 2025 2B/RHP prospect who continues to impress with his all-around abilities. He recently set personal bests in multiple categories, including the 60-yard dash, broad jump, 5-10-5 shuttle, and exit velocity, showcasing his well-rounded athleticism. As a left-handed hitter, Joaquin exudes confidence in the batter’s box, sporting an athletic, slightly open stance. His approach at the plate is marked by a disciplined eye for the strike zone and a knack for driving line drives to all fields. Throughout the tournament, Joaquin also demonstrated savvy base running, consistently making smart decisions on the bases. In addition to his strong contact skills, Joaquin flashed some power at the plate, making solid contact in several of his at-bats. His tournament performance was highlighted by a 2-for-6 showing, which included 2 doubles, 1 RBI, and 2 walks. Joaquin Vasquez’s combination of athleticism, discipline, and baseball IQ makes him a standout player with a promising future.

07/27/2023 - Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Joaquin is a hard-working 2B/RHP in the 2025 class. Has a 5 ft 9/150 frame with room to grow. Defensively, he has a relaxed feel and creates great attack angles. Shows range to glove and arm side and is on-time to field the baseball. Hands are clean and can redirect the baseball quickly. Arm action is short and have carry at 84 velo. On the mound, he competes with every pitch. His FB sat 77-81 with tailing action. His CB shaped at 11-5 and had medium break. Working to develop a CH will add to his pitch mix. At the plate, he begins in a crouched stance and a controlled rhythm. Displays the ability to us all fields and by incorporating his lower half more will allow for more power. Overall solid 2025 prospect.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Joaquin is a talented 2B/RHP in the 2025 class. Scouts were impressed with his athletic ability and how engaged he was in games. In the field, he displays an impressive arm (86 velo) that is accurate. He plays on the balls of his feet and his feet are active. He gains a low and athletic fielding position and his exchanges are quick and clean. Shows athleticism by using numerous arm slots based upon his defensive zone. One the mound, he has a feel for pitching and shows poise. He gets ahead in the count and can put hitters away. Has clean mechanics and a repeatable delivery. Likes to pound the zone and let his defense work. Struck out 5 batters in 4 innings of work. His FB topped at 79 with run. His CB had 11-5 shape and sat 62-4. His CH was 66 and needs additional development as he sees advanced hitters. At the plate, he begins in a crouched stance and stays inside his feet well. Shows line drive production and solid plate discipline with 3 in game BB’s. Overall, Joaquin is a player to watch in the 2025 class.

07/17/2022 - Baseball Factory Los Angeles All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Joaquin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the All-Star Classic. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.24 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he shows an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and has great knowledge of the game. He works hard on the field with a lot of energy.

12/12/2021 - All-In Membership - San Bernardino, CA Joaquin is a LHH 2B/C in the class of 2025 out of California. At 2B, he displayed efficient footwork and the ability to get in front of the baseball while presenting the glove early. He made good double play feeds and consistent throws to his target. At C, he received with a funneling motion and swayed to keep pitches in front of him. He did a good job blocking by keeping the ball in front of him with quiet non jerky movements and his throws were on target due to compact in line footwork with a smooth transition. Offensively, he utilized an open stance and a rotational style of hitting to work the ball to all fields. With 2+ years of development we believe Joaquin can improve his game and be a prospect for college recruiters.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
