04/25/2010 - College PREP - Fort Washington, PA John is a tall, lean, 2-way player that plays 1B and RHP. He currently projects better at 1B, where he presents his glove well and shows soft hands. John fields the ball out in front of his body and has good footwork around the bag. He throws accurately to his target, and if he can lighten his feet, start in a lower position, and add arm strength, defensive abilities can improve. On the mound, John's FB touches 77 MPH and his CB has 10-5 shape. He has decent leverage, okay mechanics, and is currently an average Varsity HS pitcher. Development of a CH, added arm strength, and improved overall command should help Pitching grades further improve. Offensively, John has good balance and decent bat speed. He has a good set-up, level swing, and he tracks the ball well. John has good hands, and if he can avoid wrapping the bat, have more direct hands to the ball, and work to spray the ball to all fields, offensive grades can improve.
