At the plate, he starts in a squared stance with loose hands and a simple load with a short stride toward the pitcher. He has very controlled rhythm in the box and does a nice job of staying firm on the frontside with his lower half. He gets good extension through contact and has good coordination with his hips and hands. He showed off solid plate discipline in game action and made good contact. He keeps his head on the baseball. He reached base in 3 of 6 plate appearances with 2 singles and one walk. On the mound, he gets squared on the rubber and does a good job of gathering his balance, doing well to keep his eyes on his target. He has a controlled landing on his finish and puts himself in a good spot to field his position. He shows off solid control, especially with his FB which he ran up to 58 MPH. He allowed one hit and one walk in 2 innings of game action. John is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop and get stronger!
