01/17/2025 - 2025 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament John continues to excel on the diamond, showcasing significant improvements in his baseball abilities. His foot speed has improved, recording his best 60 time to date. In the outfield, he moves with smooth, fluid actions, utilizing active footwork to get behind the ball. To maximize his throws, he needs to focus on playing through with more momentum toward his target. At third base, John displays clean, smooth actions with active footwork, effectively squaring up ground balls and playing through with his body. His glove work is firm and well-presented out front, and his range will continue to expand as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he maintains a squared setup and consistently utilizes all fields with a line-drive approach. His lower half works efficiently through the swing, generating power through an aggressive hip turn. With continued development, John has the tools to take his game to the next level.

08/29/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Baltimore, MD John is an athletic 3B/RHP with a promising future in baseball. At third base, he exhibits smooth, fluid actions, solid footwork, and clean hands, with his range expected to improve as he enhances his foot quickness. His throws are accurate with good carry, and his arm strength will benefit from a long toss program. At the plate, John impresses with his squared setup, quick hands, and level swing path, making consistent, solid contact and utilizing all fields. On the mound, his fastball sits between 57-59 mph. As he continues to build arm strength and refine his off-speed pitches, his pitching performance is expected to improve. With significant growth potential, John has a bright future in the game.

11/19/2023 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY John continues to shine with his baseball abilities. He did show at 3B for the first time at the event. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At 3B, he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well as he transfers weight into a firm front side.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) John is a 2029 OF/RHP prospect out of Westbury, NY who recently showcased his skills at the National World Series at the JRTC. In the OF, he gets in a relaxed position pre-pitch and shows off efficient footwork. He presents his hands out in front and works behind the baseball, making all the routine plays. He shows off a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly. He recorded a raw velo of 65 MPH, improving on previous marks. At the plate, he starts in a squared stance with loose hands and a simple load with a short stride toward the pitcher. He has very controlled rhythm in the box and does a nice job of staying firm on the frontside with his lower half. He gets good extension through contact and has good coordination with his hips and hands. He showed off solid plate discipline in game action and made good contact. He keeps his head on the baseball. He reached base in 3 of 6 plate appearances with 2 singles and one walk. On the mound, he gets squared on the rubber and does a good job of gathering his balance, doing well to keep his eyes on his target. He has a controlled landing on his finish and puts himself in a good spot to field his position. He shows off solid control, especially with his FB which he ran up to 58 MPH. He allowed one hit and one walk in 2 innings of game action. John is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on as he continues to develop and get stronger!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
