08/01/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Dallas, TX John is a LHH/OF/LHP that showed off his defensive skills at the All-Ripken event in Frisco, TX. As a fielder he showed plus range and athleticism getting to and through the baseball. He has an accurate arm and a strong feel for the game and situation. At the plate, he put the ball in play numerous times and recorded multiple base hits while showing his awareness for the strike zone drawing multiple walks. On the mound his fastball has cut action at 52-54mph and his breaking ball was at 41-46mph. He works directly down the hill and competes by attacking the zone against every hitter.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
