06/27/2010 - Team One South 2010 John is a strong, athletic, OF with good skills. He is an aggressive OF that takes good routes and angles to the ball. He reads it off the bat well and makes plays. He has a quick arm action and his throws are online, with carry to his target. Defensive grades can improve if John can work to get behind the ball better. At the plate, John is an aggressive hitter with a balanced approach and quick hands. He has a level swing, good bat speed, and he centers the ball well. John can improve at the plate if he can let the ball travel deeper, improve hitting the away pitch, and improve his barrel accuracy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
