12/27/2008 - Christmas Camp and Tournament - 2008 Neff improved his 60-yard dash slightly, down from 7.53 to 7.49. at the plate, he hit with an aggressive approach and showed some bat speed and balance. He tended to get a little long with his stroke - out and around the ball, though he did get on top well. He made good contact to the pull side, but ideally would shorten up his stroke and use more of the field. Defensively, he attacked the ball and presented his glove well. Can work to his angles to the ball, along with his footwork to catch and throw on ground balls.

09/28/2008 - College PREP - Detroit, MI Jordan is a two way player with a solid average body that does show projection as it continues to fill out. Currently, he does project best in the outfield. Foot speed is near average and he does need to improve foot speed for the next level. His feet are active and aggressive just needs to improve quickness. In the infield, he does need to come get the baseball more playing through while presenting his glove down and out. Routes and angles are solid in the outfield, but do need to work more behind to play through with momentum to his target. Arm strength is average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in developing building more arm strength. At the plate, Neff has average ability with slightly average power. He displays bat speed but swing path is long. Power is limited to the pull side due to swing path. Hitting grades will improve quickly with instruction and adjustments at the plate. Jordan has ability with room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
