Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/18/2013 - 2013 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jordan is an athletic corner infielder/RHP who has a lot of promise at both spots. At the Under Armour All America Pre-Season Tournament, the 3B showed solid glove work and some prep work with his feet. Live arm that will only play better as he allows his momentum to work all the way through the play. His range can improve and his footwork needs to lighten some. With the bat, he has quick hands and a level bat path. He uses the whole field but has a lot of power to the pull side especially. Stride needs to shorten so he can get down on time consistently. This should help shorten his stroke up some, too. He works fast on the mound and really attacks hitters. Shoulders start uphill, but he gets downhill effectively. Glove tuck and direction can improve and he needs to get over his front side to consistently locate down. Fastball has some run to it, and his slider is hard with sharp break. Slows up slightly on the change up. He still has two springs ahead of him to work out the mechanical issues, but he's a physical kid with some tools and what looks to be solid makeup. Has the look of a difference maker at the next level.

10/27/2012 - 2012 Team One Futures Series West Jordan has a tall, solid strong frame. Defensively, he showed great carry and accurate throws. Has soft hands and active feet with glove extension. At the plate, has strong hands with good bat angle. Centers the ball well and quick barrel. Has a great pull side power. On the mound showed good arm speed and worked downhill. Easy delivery and stays in line. Very aggressive and smooth.

10/21/2011 - Team One Futures West 2011 Jordan is a left-handed hitting third baseman and spends some time at shortstop as well. In the infield he creates good angles and gets in a low and athletic fielding position. His abilities in the infield should continue to develop as he learns to quicken his transfer in a more fluid motion. At the plate he has good balance and bat angle that allows him to be very direct to contact. His tools at the plate should continue to improve as he learns to get in a consistent launch position and fire his back hip to the ball. As a 2014 graduate, Jordan has the opportunity to continue to develop his skills in preparation for the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
