08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Jordan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He utilizes his feet well in in working in line through a quick transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have really improved as he threw is lowest time to date at 2.0 and will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Blocking / receiving tools are outstanding skills that will play well at the next level. At the plate, hitting grades have improved now showing as solid average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered as he displays gap to gap power. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude, plays hard, and shows good leadership traits.

03/09/2013 - College PREP - Kenosha, WI Jordan is an athletic catcher who will graduate in 2014. Behind the dish, Jordan has good flexion, he lets the ball travel, and he holds a low target. He fields athletically, blocks very well, and he throws with carry from a short / quick arm action to his target. Less kickback when blocking and added arm strength will improve catching skills. Offensively, Jordan has a tall set-up, good balance, and average bat speed. He has a level swing, he swings in good rhythm, and he gets his lower 1/2 through. Hitting can improve with a wider base and added strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
