07/31/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Southwest Championships 18U Participant 8/1 - Tall, lanky, room to fill out, FB 80-82mph, arm side run, 72mph charge, 69-70 CB, clean smooth delivery, works down in the zone, ground ball pitcher, moves in and out well

07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jordan continues to show as an OF/RHP but currently, he projects best in the OF for next level where he has improved his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.20. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles to track down balls as he covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Defensive grades are now well above average. At the plate, he has improved his hitting and power grades through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He makes solid contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will improve as he keeps both hands on the bat through contact. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his best velocity to date, topping out at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 81-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is a plus as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and develops better off speed pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he is tough mentally and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/20/2014 - College PREP - Tucson, AZ Jordan is a strong two-way player that will graduate in 2015. Defensively, he has smooth rhythm and a productive pace to get the job done. He fields in front and is sure handed. On the mound, he hit 82 MPH with his fastball and threw a 10/4 slider from 65-68 MPH. His CH is also an effective off-speed pitch, which has good sink from 71-74 MPH. Jordan is mechanically sound and he has very fluid/free arm action and a repeatable delivery. With the bat, he hits from a good base and a middle approach. He has good hip/hand coordination and gets the barrel through the zone on a level plane. Overall - Jordan is a sharp player with present tools and great upside with a good 6'1/160 lbs baseball body frame.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
