01/24/2010 - College PREP - Delray Beach, FL Jorge is a catcher with long, solid body that is well suited for his position. Behind the plate, he shows a solid setup with feet working in line to his target. Pop times were 2.19 - 2.30 at this event, not quite as good as the 2.05 - 2.10 range we saw from him in November 2009. His exchange is clean, but he would benefit by coming out lower, working higher through the throwing process. Receiving and blocking skills flashes potential of being quality tools at the next level. Offensively, Bravo displays a solid setup that allows him to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields as he displays strength in his swing with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Jorge has abilities with a lot of room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
