08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jose is a coachable OF prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Jose shows quick footwork and takes decent routes to track down fly balls. He gets into an athletic position and fields ground balls with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle with a short arm action. Jose can improve defensively by gaining more momentum on his throws and by incorporating a long toss program to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and shows good center balance. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through the zone well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and gap to gap pop. Jose can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride towards the pitcher. Overall, Jose is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.
