09/26/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Joseph continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.20. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing (81 mph exit velocity), stays inside the ball and utilizes all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/18/2019 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Joseph is a SS prospect who will graduate in 2022. In the field, Joseph shows quick footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws consistently on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and hits against a strong front side, leading to solid contact to all fields. Overall, Joseph is a solid prospect who should find success going into his sophomore season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
