11/11/2010 - Pirate City Select Training Joseph is a tall, lean, OF who will graduate in 2013. Defensively, Joseph has a decent 1st step, he tracks the ball well, and he makes routine plays. He is a coachable, energetic player with a loose arm action and some accuracy to his target. Joseph will need to improve his fundamentals, and get on a throwing program in order to improve defensive skills. At the plate, Joseph tracks the ball well, he has a proper load, and has a line drive swing. He has a good "eye" and he makes good adjustments to off-speed pitches. Hitting can improve with more aggressiveness and added physical strength.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
