09/08/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Fresno, CA Joseph is an athletic 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Joseph shows active footwork and flashes good range to his glove side. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact to all fields. On the mound, Joseph gathers over the rubber and works with a clean arm. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Joseph shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 55-59mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 56-58mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Joseph is a talented prospect who should find success going into his freshman season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
