01/12/2024 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Sarasota Joseph is a 2027 OF/RHP out of Houston, TX who showcased his skills during the BF Spring Training in Sarasota. In the OF he starts with active feet with ability to make routine plays. He works behind the ball and has a high catch. Has a clean gather off of his left foot as he made accurate throws into infield with an arm velocity up to 69mph. This right-handed pitcher works exclusively from the stretch. He strides in line and gets his chest to his glove. He challenges hitters with a FB that topped out at 62mph with movement, a 9/3 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup with sinking action. In 1 inning of live game action, Joseph didn't allow a run. At the plate he hits from an athletic and closed stance. Gets his hands separated and has smooth timing to his swing. Has a flat barrel path with ability to keep his hands inside the baseball. In live game action he had quality AB's and drew a base on balls. Joseph displays leadership skills and loves to play the game. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

11/19/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Joseph is a RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2027. In the OF shows ability to flip his hips and work behind and through the baseball. Takes aggressive routes to ground balls and fields from a square fielding position. Creates momentum on his throws into infield. On the mound he gathers over the rubber, with eyes on target, and separates his hands on-time. He works downhill and rotates to his target. He attacks hitters with a FB that 65-67mph with good command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. Joseph hits from an upright and even stance. Does a good job of keeping his hands inside the baseball and hits balls where they're pitched. During his round of BP, he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 74mph. With 4 seasons of continued growth and development, we foresee Joseph having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Joseph is a tall and strong 6ft/136 OF/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows the trust factor to make the routine play with ease. He has active feet and his 60 time improves with each event (7.44). He works through the baseball and stays directional to his target for effective throws back to the dirt. Arm plays at 72 and with more leg strength, he will be in the 80’s shortly. On the mound, his best feature is the ability to locate 3 pitches for a strike. His FB sat 58-62 and his CB ranged at 48. His CH showed deception and was 55-7. At the plate, he begins in a tall stance with high hands. Creates a simple load and is controlled in his swing. Generates loud contact and shows line drive production to the gaps. Overall, Joseph is a player to keep an eye on in the 2027 class.

01/16/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Joseph is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with some strength present and room to add. In the OF, he tries to work through the baseball and made routine plays. He does a good job of tracking ball into glove. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 64mph. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. Picks up target early and lands in a good fielding position. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 59-60mph, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball, and a developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he starts with an upright and even stance. A quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well and showed good awareness of the strike zone. A flat barrel path enables him to make contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way player making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
