05/06/2018 - College PREP - Colorado Springs, CO Joseph is an athletic C graduating in 2019. Defensively, he shows efficient feet that allow him to get to his knees quickly and cover ground to make difficult plays. He could improve by getting into more of an athletic fielding position when receiving. Joseph has firm hands when receiving and makes clean exchanges into a short arm action (3/4 arm slot) throwing the ball on a line to his targets. Joseph could gain more velocity and accuracy by implementing a throwing program to his training. At the plate, Joseph shows a contact, pull-side approach. He has a crouched setup with a square stride and a good hand load. Joseph can improve offensively by developing a rhythm and implementing more of his lower half. With another year of development, Joseph could play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
