12/27/2024 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic (MS) Joseph continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At 3B, he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-68 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength and develop off speed pitches will aid in improving stock on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a team player.

07/22/2024 - National Showcase - Glen Allen (Richmond), VA Joseph is a solid, strong 3B who will graduate in 2029. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact and has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 5 years to further develop, Joseph has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
