02/07/2010 - College PREP - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Joseph is a tall, strong, 2-way player that will graduate in 2010. He currently projects better at 1B than on the mound. In the INF, Joseph makes plays on balls his way and he gives max effort. He is a big target with good coordination for his size. If Joseph can quicken his feet, and work to field the baseball out in front of his body, defensive abilities can improve. On the mound, Joseph has a balanced approach and is online to his target. He throws strikes and his pitches tend to have A/S run. More front side, a longer arm action, and added strength will help mound effectiveness improve. At the plate is where Joseph shows his abilities best. He has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He is quick to the ball, has a line drive approach, and can hit to all fields. Joseph has well above average raw power as well and can hit bombs the opposite way. A more compact swing and a more firm front side can help already solid offensive grades get even better.
