10/26/2014 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX Josh is an agile, athletic OF'er with room to grow. In the OF, he showed quick feet and good body control with plus lateral movement. His throws were on line and he will see improvement with a long toss program. Offensively, he showed a closed stance with a soft stride. He stayed inside the ball with his controlled approach and strong strike zone awareness. Tapping into more of his lower 1/2 and maintaining consistent bat speed through the zone will improve his abilities at the plate. Josh has time on his side to develop and mature as a ballplayer.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
